Fitness app major player RunKeeper is entering into the step tracking arena with its new app Breeze. The app is currently leveraging the iPhone 5s’ M7 chip to track users’ movements, principally steps.
In a blog post RunKeeper touts the app as made for the non-workout parts of the day:
“Whereas our first app, RunKeeper, is focused on when we work out, Breeze covers the rest of the day — to help everyone move more throughout their lives.”
The company has plans to allow integration of the product with devices, presumably wearables, in the near future.
